Anthony Edwards led the Minnesota Timberwolves with 31 points, including a decisive step-back 3-pointer with 42.9 seconds left, as the team defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 94-88 at Intuit Dome on Thursday, February 26. Donte DiVincenzo added 18 points, while Rudy Gobert pulled down 13 rebounds to help Minnesota extend its hot streak.

The Timberwolves overcame a slow start, scoring just 15 points in the second quarter but still leading 44-38 at halftime behind Edwards’ 11 points and DiVincenzo’s 12. Minnesota trailed by six in the third before Edwards’ drive and reverse layup gave them a 76-74 lead with 7:40 remaining.

Jaden McDaniels and Ayo Dosunmu each contributed 12 points off the bench, helping Minnesota improve to 5-1 since February 9 and 3-1 since the All-Star break. The win also puts the team at 2-0 on a three-game road trip.

The Clippers struggled offensively without Kawhi Leonard, shooting 18.2% in the second quarter and scoring a season-low 38 points in the first half. Derrick Jones Jr. led Los Angeles with 18 points, Bennedict Mathurin added 14, and Kris Dunn contributed 11, but the team lost its third straight game for the first time since December.

Minnesota shot 43.4% from the floor and 31% from three-point range, while Los Angeles finished with 40.5% shooting overall. Edwards’ ability to create shots in crucial moments proved decisive against a Clippers team unable to find consistent offense without their star.
