James Harden highlighted team effort and ongoing growth following Cleveland’s 109-94 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. “Every game is about us, honestly… each game is like an opportunity to get better. So, tonight was a good step for us,” he said.

Harden described his adjustment to Cleveland’s system as a work in progress. “I’m still getting better. I’m still learning… it’s just score a basketball, playmake, and try to be a good leader,” he explained.

He emphasized the natural synergy with Donovan Mitchell. “He’s very unselfish, but he’s so confident… any guy can get it going,” Harden said, noting that their on-court communication comes without explicit discussion.

The guard stressed that wins are a reflection of collective effort. “Tonight was a team effort and it’s been like that since I’ve been here,” Harden said, underlining the balanced approach among teammates.

Reflecting on finding teammates in optimal positions, Harden noted the focus on maximizing opportunities. “We’re working to build something special and find what works and what doesn’t work,” he said.

Harden scored 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting, including four 3-pointers, while adding four assists. He credited the team’s defensive performance for creating easier scoring chances. “Tonight was just no different… each game is an opportunity to get better,” he remarked.

He also praised the team’s adaptability and readiness. “Any guy can get it going… good win for us and we got another one tomorrow,” Harden added, highlighting Cleveland’s momentum and depth.

Cleveland improved to 37-22 with the win, using a decisive third quarter to turn a six-point halftime lead into a 23-11 advantage. Jarrett Allen’s 19 points and 10 rebounds complemented Donovan Mitchell’s 23 points, allowing the Cavaliers to control the game.

The victory showcased the Cavs’ chemistry, with Harden’s leadership and Mitchell’s confidence driving performance. The team prepares for a road trip in Milwaukee.
