Coby White is choosing to focus on the future rather than reflecting on what might have been during his time with the Chicago Bulls.
The guard was traded to the Charlotte Hornets earlier this month as he approaches free agency, marking a significant transition in his career.
Despite the change, White says he is not spending time second-guessing how things unfolded in Chicago.
Speaking with Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune, White explained that he has learned not to dwell on missed opportunities or alternate outcomes, instead embracing the idea that circumstances often fall outside a player’s control.
“You could always live in ‘what could have been,’” White said.
“I’ve kind of learned through my life that ‘what could have been’ brings you nothing but anxiousness and worry. Things happen for a reason. That’s just how the chips fell. A lot of it is out of your control. I don’t really try to live in the ‘what if.’”
White made his debut with Charlotte on Tuesday in a matchup against his former team, contributing 10 points and four assists in 16 minutes of action.
