It has been roughly six and a half weeks since the Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Max Strus would undergo a follow-up evaluation on his surgically repaired left foot within four weeks, with further decisions to be made after that examination.

Since then, the team has not issued an official update, and there have been no strong indications that the small forward is close to making his season debut.

Despite the lack of recent news, head coach Kenny Atkinson said Thursday that he still expects the veteran wing to play at some point before the season ends, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

Strus has played 6 seasons for the Heat, Cavaliers, and Bulls. He has averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 309 regular-season games.
