Jeremy Sochan intends to join the New York Knicks after officially clearing waivers, choosing New York despite drawing interest from 10 different teams following his release by the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.

The Spurs originally selected Sochan with the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, viewing him as a versatile forward with defensive upside.

Over four seasons in San Antonio, the former Baylor standout posted averages of 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while playing 25.3 minutes per game, carving out a steady role in the rotation during his early years with the franchise.

However, his role diminished this season.

In 53 appearances, Sochan averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assist across 12.8 minutes per contest, reflecting a reduced opportunity before ultimately being waived.

Now, he’ll look to reset his trajectory in New York, where the Knicks will give him a fresh opportunity to contribute.
