The Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the New Orleans Pelicans 141-137 in overtime Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum, overcoming a 44-point performance from Trey Murphy III. Milwaukee improved to 19-29 with the win, while New Orleans fell to 13-39 after another close loss.
Ryan Rollins led the Bucks with 27 points and four assists, helping stabilize the offense late in regulation and into overtime. AJ Green added 20 points with six three-pointers, as Milwaukee leaned on perimeter shooting to counter New Orleans’ hot outside scoring.
Murphy carried the Pelicans offensively, shooting 12-for-19 from three-point range and finishing 15-for-28 overall. His spacing forced constant defensive adjustments and opened driving lanes for Zion Williamson, who contributed 20 points and eight assists.
Saddiq Bey added 22 points and Herbert Jones chipped in defensively with two steals, but New Orleans struggled to slow Milwaukee’s balanced attack. The Bucks shot 61% from the field and finished with 36 assists, showing strong ball movement throughout the night.
Amir Coffey and Myles Turner each scored 16 points, with Turner also grabbing nine rebounds and protecting the rim with two blocks. Kevin Porter Jr. provided a key spark off the bench with 18 points, nine assists and five steals, helping shift momentum during critical stretches.
The Pelicans stayed aggressive from deep, hitting 24 three-pointers at a 52% clip, which kept the game tight into the closing minutes of regulation. Jose Alvarado and Jeremiah Fears combined for 22 points off the bench, adding secondary scoring that forced Milwaukee to match shot-making possession by possession.
In overtime, Milwaukee’s efficiency inside the arc became the difference as the home side generated high-percentage looks through quick ball reversals. Rollins and Green combined for several key baskets that allowed the Bucks to maintain a narrow lead despite Murphy’s continued scoring.
Derik Queen recorded seven assists for New Orleans, but missed free throws and late defensive breakdowns proved costly in the extra period. The Pelicans finished 23-for-29 at the line, while Milwaukee capitalized on its limited free-throw chances by converting eight of 10 attempts.
Milwaukee will look to build momentum after snapping a difficult stretch, while New Orleans continues searching for consistency during a challenging season in the Western Conference standings.
