Steve Kerr acknowledged that his future with the Golden State Warriors remains uncertain as he approaches the end of his current contract, telling ESPN’s Anthony Slater that he hasn’t yet decided whether he’ll return for a 13th season as head coach.

Kerr said the decision will come down to how things look across the organization once the season is over.

“Let’s wait until the end of the year and see if everybody’s aligned. If we are, then we’ll keep going. If not, then we won’t. (It’ll depend) how the season ends, what the future looks like, all of that factors in.

“And they, meaning Joe and management, they’ve got a lot to think about. It’s a really interesting time for the organization.”

Kerr has had a compact but highly successful NBA career, first as a player and later as a coach.

As a player (1988–2003), he was a role-playing sharpshooter, best known for his elite three-point shooting and clutch moments.

He won five NBA championships as a player, three with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs.

After retiring, Kerr moved into broadcasting and front-office work before becoming head coach of the Golden State Warriors in 2014.

As a coach, he quickly built a dynasty, winning four NBA championships and establishing one of the most successful runs in modern league history.
