After seeing only minimal minutes during his rookie campaign, Jaylon Tyson has taken a significant step forward in his second NBA season and was rewarded this week with a selection to the Rising Stars roster.

Even with that recognition, the Cleveland Cavaliers wing made it clear he is aiming higher, as Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

“I do want to be an All-Star one day,” Tyson said, while also arguing that he believes he merits attention in the Most Improved Player race.

“… If we were winning more games right now, I would be in that (MIP) conversation, right? I feel like respectfully and humbly, the numbers speak for itself. You see my leap from last year. … They say second-year players can’t get it, but why not? I think I should be in that conversation. We’re going to continue to win games and I’m going to keep being me, and we’ll see how it happens.”

Tyson has played 2 seasons for the Cavaliers. He has averaged 8.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 91 regular-season games.
