Although Kristaps Porzingis has begun ramping back up with basketball-related work, he is still expected to miss additional time, the Hawks announced in a press release, noting that the veteran center will be reevaluated in one week.

Porzingis has been out for Atlanta’s last nine games while dealing with left Achilles tendinitis and is set to remain sidelined for at least three more contests, on the road against Boston, at home versus Houston, and away at Indiana, before undergoing another examination next week.

Injuries have restricted Porzingis to only 17 games so far in the 2025/26 season, his first with the Hawks. Following Monday’s comeback win over the Pacers, Atlanta now holds a 23-25 record.

There is more optimism surrounding second-year forward Zaccharie Risacher, who has also missed nine straight games.

The 2024 No. 1 overall pick continues to improve as he recovers from a left knee bone contusion and is currently listed as day-to-day, according to the team.

Risacher, 20, was largely durable as a rookie, appearing in 75 games last season and playing in 36 of the Hawks’ first 39 games before the injury.

He practiced with the G League’s College Park Skyhawks on Sunday, a positive indication that his return could be approaching.
