Real Madrid cruised to a 90-78 victory over AS Monaco on Thursday at Movistar Arena, marking its sixth straight EuroLeague win and securing the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Facundo Campazzo set the tone early, slicing through Monaco’s defense and recording 17 points and 10 assists in 25 minutes for his second double-double of the season. His leadership fueled a 23-9 early lead that never let up.

Despite sitting on six points at halftime, Madrid carried a commanding 54-31 advantage into the break. Monaco rallied in the third quarter, but every run was met with a response from Campazzo and his teammates.

Late in the fourth, Monaco trimmed the deficit to nine, but Campazzo created space for Trey Lyles to hit a crucial three-pointer and then finished through contact to restore a 14-point cushion. Madrid’s experience and execution closed out the game.

Trey Lyles led all scorers with 20 points and added seven rebounds, while Edy Tavares recorded a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. Mario Hezonja contributed 12 points and Usman Garuba added 11, highlighting Madrid’s balanced offensive attack.

For Monaco, Mike James led the way with 17 points, while Nikola Mirotic added 15, and Matthew Strazel and Daniel Theis contributed 12 points each.

Defense has been a strong suit for Madrid in recent games, holding Barcelona to 61 points, Milan to 77, and Monaco to 78 in the last three contests. The win moved Madrid to 16-8 on the season, just behind Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, who still has a game in hand.

Monaco fell to 15-9, dropping to sixth place after back-to-back losses. The visitors will look to rebound next Friday at home against Virtus Bologna, while Real Madrid prepares for a four-game road stretch beginning against Paris Basketball.
