The LA Clippers are expected to prioritize roster and cap flexibility at the trade deadline in order to convert two-way players Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller to standard contracts, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.

The Clippers are operating about $1.15 million below the first-apron hard cap and currently have 14 players on full-season contracts, with Patrick Baldwin Jr. on a 10-day deal.

To open spots for both Sanders and Miller, who are nearing their game limits, at least one standard contract will need to be moved.

Azarly reports that Chris Paul and Kobe Brown are the top trade candidates.

Waiving either player would create a roster spot but not meaningful cap relief, making a trade the more effective option for clearing enough space under the hard cap.

With the Clippers having already used their mid-level exception and lacking a bi-annual exception, any offer above the minimum salary would require use of the $2.68 million disabled player exception, which is limited to a one-year deal.

A minimum contract, however, could run for up to two years.
