Karl-Anthony Towns has emerged as a trade target, with multiple teams reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring the New York Knicks center, according to Steve Popper of Newsday. Talks involving Memphis, Orlando, and Charlotte have surfaced, with Towns’ name previously linked to a potential deal around Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The 30-year-old Towns has started all 39 games for New York this season, averaging 20.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 46.6% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range. His consistent double-double production makes him one of the Knicks’ most valuable trade assets.

Towns’ presence in trade discussions comes as New York seeks roster flexibility in pursuit of a stronger playoff positioning. The Knicks currently hold a 25-18 record, placing them third in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Pistons and Celtics.

Memphis, Orlando, and Charlotte have shown interest due to Towns’ ability to stretch the floor, rebound at a high rate, and provide veteran leadership. Each team is looking to bolster frontcourt depth while balancing minutes for emerging players.

New York’s frontcourt also includes Mitchell Robinson, who averages 9 points and 9 rebounds per game, and Ariel Hukporti, giving the Knicks flexibility in any potential trade scenario.

The Knicks’ interest in roster adjustments follows a season in which Jalen Brunson has led the team with 28.2 points per game, while Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby provide perimeter scoring and defensive versatility. Towns remains central to any significant frontcourt move.
