Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey has been sent to the G League’s Windy City Bulls as part of his ramp-up process from a left hamstring strain, the team announced.

The assignment is designed to help the Australian player regain game conditioning as he nears a return.

According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network, if Giddey comes through Sunday’s practice without any setbacks, he’s expected to be available to return either Tuesday’s game against the LA Clippers or Thursday’s matchup in Minnesota versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Giddey has played 5 seasons for the Thunder and Bulls. He has averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 310 regular-season games.
