Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey is showing signs of progress in his recovery from a left hamstring strain that has kept him out since December 29.

According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network, Giddey’s status for Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets has been upgraded from out to doubtful.

While Johnson notes that shooting guard is still unlikely to suit up, the designation change suggests the Bulls are nearing a point where his return could be imminent.

Giddey has played 5 seasons for the Thunder and Bulls. He has averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 310 regular-season games.
