While some around the league have framed Toronto as a buyer ahead of the trade deadline, sources cited by Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com describe the Raptors’ mindset as more selective than aggressive, characterizing it as “opportunistic” and focused on identifying undervalued situations rather than chasing immediate upgrades.

That philosophy helps explain why Toronto has been loosely connected to high-profile names such as Anthony Davis, Domantas Sabonis and Ja Morant, all of whom come with elite talent but have also navigated notable injury concerns this season.

In Houston, the tone is far more measured despite recent on-court struggles. Kelly Iko of Yahoo Sports reports that the Houston Rockets are not panicking or rushing toward roster changes.

Team sources told Iko that Houston’s front office has floated trade ideas with roughly half the league, but those conversations have been exploratory, with no deals close and no urgent push to reshape the roster.

Iko adds that rival teams have inquired about Tari Eason, Clint Capela and Dorian Finney-Smith, though nothing appears to be gaining traction.

Meanwhile, the narrative around the Los Angeles Clippers has shifted significantly. Early-season struggles led to speculation that the team could sell at the deadline, but a surge of 11 wins in 13 games has changed that perception.

Afseth notes that the Clippers are now being viewed as a potential buyer, with John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanovic emerging as names to watch.

Collins is playing on an expiring $26.6MM deal, while Bogdanovic is earning $16MM this season and carries a matching team option for 2026/27, making both players intriguing deadline pieces depending on how the market develops.
