The Atlanta Hawks delivered one of their most complete road performances of the season Sunday night, knocking off the Golden State Warriors 124-111 at Chase Center.
Atlanta improved to 20-21 and earned its third straight win by controlling the tempo after an early Warriors surge, snapping Golden State’s three-game home winning streak.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks with 24 points, providing timely perimeter shooting and late-half scoring that swung momentum before the break.
Jalen Johnson followed with a well-rounded line of 23 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, anchoring Atlanta on both ends while helping stabilize the offense during key stretches.
Luke Kennard supplied a major boost off the bench with a season-high 22 points, knocking down six three-pointers as Atlanta’s second unit consistently stretched the floor.
Golden State opened the game hot, making five of its first six shots to build a 14-4 lead, with Stephen Curry accounting for seven points in that early burst.
Curry finished with 31 points for his 13th 30-point game of the season, while Jimmy Butler added 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in his fourth 30-point outing of the year.
Despite that duo’s production, the Warriors struggled to find consistency from long range, shooting 10-of-42 from three-point distance and falling behind during extended cold spells.
Alexander-Walker shifted the game late in the first half, scoring eight straight points in the final 1:14, including back-to-back three-pointers, as Atlanta took a 59-53 lead into halftime.
Butler carried Golden State early with 17 points by the break, but the Warriors entered halftime just 5-of-19 from beyond the arc.
Atlanta pushed the margin to 70-58 midway through the third quarter following a Dyson Daniels layup, forcing Golden State to chase the game for most of the second half.
The Warriors responded with a brief 10-0 run, but the Hawks answered with steady ball movement and perimeter shooting to halt any sustained momentum.
CJ McCollum added 12 points for Atlanta, while Onyeka Okongwu contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds to help the Hawks finish with a 46-48 edge on the glass.
Golden State received little scoring support outside of Curry and Butler, as no other Warrior reached double figures.
Up next, the Hawks continue their four-game road trip at the Lakers on Tuesday night, while the Warriors remain home to host Portland.
