The NBA announced that Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder has been handed a three-game suspension without salary as a result of a postgame altercation involving another player.

According to the league, the situation unfolded approximately 40 minutes after the Kings were defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers on December 28.

Rather than leaving the arena, Schroder actively searched for the opposing player and confronted him in a hallway, escalating the exchange and attempting to throw a punch.

League officials described the behavior as a clear violation of conduct standards and acted swiftly in response.

The suspension is scheduled to begin with Sunday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets and will also keep Schroder sidelined for home games Monday versus the Lakers and Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
