New York has clearly felt Josh Hart’s absence as he’s sat out eight games with a sprained right ankle. Without his energy and versatility, the Knicks haven’t looked the same, and relief could be coming soon.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Hart has a chance to return as early as Sunday when the team travels to Portland.

The player suggested the injury, while annoying, isn’t something that will keep him sidelined much longer. He explained that the ankle has responded well and that the timing of his return will depend on how it feels day to day.

He also joked about his long history with ankle injuries, noting that this one may have done all the damage it can possibly do.

During Hart’s absence, New York has struggled to find consistency.

The Knicks have gone 3-5 without him in the lineup and have dropped five of their last six games overall, underscoring just how valuable his rebounding, defense, and hustle are to the team’s success.
