Stephen Curry scored 27 points and dished out a season-high 10 assists to lead the Golden State Warriors past the Sacramento Kings 137-103 at Chase Center on Friday. Jimmy Butler added 15 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while the Warriors set a season-high with 39 assists in the win.
Curry finished 10-of-21 from the field, including six 3-pointers, marking his 11th game in 13 with 25 or more points. The star guard scored 18 in the first half as Golden State built a 63-59 lead at halftime despite a strong showing from DeMar DeRozan, who led Sacramento with 24 points.
The Kings fell behind for good in the third quarter after Dennis Schroder’s layup tied the game at 84 with 3:13 remaining. The Warriors responded with a 13-0 run to close the period, sparking a decisive lead that carried into the fourth quarter.
Sacramento’s Zach LaVine scored 15 points but went 1-of-7 from three, as the Kings made only seven of 27 attempts from beyond the arc. Russell Westbrook added 13 points, seven assists, and four rebounds but was called for a Flagrant 1 foul after an altercation with Brandin Podziemski, further hindering Sacramento’s comeback.
Golden State’s bench contributed 66 points, highlighted by De’Anthony Melton’s 19, Podziemski’s 14, and Gary Payton II’s 12 points with eight rebounds. The Warriors shot 55% overall and 42% from three, extending their recent home success with a third consecutive win at Chase Center.
The victory improves Golden State to 21-18, moving them closer to contention in the Western Conference, while Sacramento drops to 8-30, extending their losing streak to seven games and eight of their last nine. Rookie Maxime Raynaud had eight points and seven rebounds for the Kings, gaining experience in front of a supportive home crowd.
The Warriors host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, while the Kings will attempt to end their skid against the Houston Rockets at home.
