Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr credited Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton for key contributions in Wednesday’s 120-113 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Chase Center. “Al was great…we’re starting to get to the point where we’ve been able to bump his minutes up,” Kerr said, highlighting Horford’s 19 minutes of action in which he recorded eight points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

Kerr also praised the bench’s defensive impact. “The bench came in and did a really good job…defensively they were really good,” he said, noting adjustments made by assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse during the first half. Melton added 22 points off the bench while shooting 5 of 9 from three. “He’s a hell of a player…gives us a great option off the bench,” Kerr said.

The Warriors’ improved shooting efficiency was another factor in the victory. “Sometimes the ball goes in, sometimes it doesn’t…we got good shots tonight,” Kerr said. He emphasized ball security and decision-making from Draymond Green and Stephen Curry, who combined for 38 assists and three turnovers. “When those two guys make simple decisions, they’re able to create plenty of offense,” Kerr noted.

Curry led the team with 31 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, including a step-back three-pointer with 26 seconds remaining to seal the victory. Jimmy Butler contributed 21 points and five rebounds, while Moses Moody added nine points. Kerr praised Moody’s consistency. “He’s the same guy every day…doesn’t get too high or too low,” Kerr said.

The Warriors controlled the game despite being outrebounded 53-42 and facing 34 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo, who added 10 rebounds and five assists. Kevin Porter Jr. scored 15 points and dished nine assists for the Bucks, but Milwaukee could not overcome Golden State’s 18 made three-pointers.

Kerr also highlighted the significance of starting the team’s eight-game home stand with a win. “Very important…we want to take advantage of it and make a push,” he said. He believes the team is settling into a consistent rhythm after recent ups and downs. “It just feels like we’re much more consistent now…team is ready,” Kerr added.

Golden State improved to 20-18, moving closer to contention in the Western Conference, while Milwaukee falls to 16-21. Both teams return to action on Friday, with the Warriors hosting the Kings and the Bucks visiting the Lakers.
