The Denver Nuggets survived the late rally as they past the Celtics 114-110, ending Boston’s five-game win streak on Wednesday evening.

Nuggets’ Jamal Murray dropped 22 points and 17 assists, while Peyton Watson scored 30, going for a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter.

On the other hand, Jaylen Brown scored 33, and Neemias Queta grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds for Boston, which had won five in a row.

In the matchup, missing its two franchise players, Denver’s Nikola Jokic and Celtics’ Jayson Tatum, but played a tough class, having 26 lead changes and another nine ties before the Nuggets turned a three-point deficit midway through the fourth into a 101-90 lead.

The Celtics trailed 107-95 and cut it to three points in the final seconds, but fell short of a time.

Murray and Christian Braun returned to the starting lineup after sitting out on Monday’s overtime loss to Philadelphia, the second game of a back-to-back.

The Nuggets trailed 90-87 before scoring 14 straight, getting nine points from Watson and eight from the center Zeke Nnaji in the fourth. 

Boston started the game 1 for 6 from the free-throw line with Brown missing two in a row while the crowd chanted “M-V-P!”.

Both teams will play on Friday night, as the Nuggets will host the Hawks, while the Celtics host the Raptors.
