After the Charlotte Hornets went to upset the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, head coach Charles Lee admired their level of physicality on the hardcourt, making their way to secure the win.
“I loved our level of physicality on both ends of the floor. “We had purpose behind what we were doing. We were strong with the ball. We weren’t complaining, expecting calls, whining… we knew tonight was gonna be a physical game,” Lee said.
Thunder was stunned by the energy of the Hornets, as they were already down by double digits in the early stages of the clash.
Meanwhile, Charlotte forward Brandon Miller led his team with 28 points, saying that his teammates trusted him to be one of the main scoring options.
“My teammates put me in the best position to give me the best shot possible.” “They trust me enough to take shots like that. I take them—I make sometimes, I miss them sometimes. I’m not perfect, but my teammates are gonna keep trusting me to take those shots,” Miller explained.
Hornets sharpshooter Kon Knueppel contributed 23 points, discussing how they were composed during the game against the defending champions.
“We were composed. We came in here like we belonged, and we gotta do that every night. We can be an elite offensive group. We play with the pass, and we play fast. That’s what we’ve been doing for the past half-month, and we want to keep it going,” Knueppel said.
Charlotte earned a big win tonight and aims to bring the momentum when they face the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
