Denver comes off a one-game losing streak after falling 127-126 to Orlando on December 27, following an overtime win against Minnesota 142-138 on December 25. Miami rides a two-game winning streak, beating Indiana 142-116 and Atlanta 126-111 over the past two days.
Injuries could affect both lineups. The Nuggets will be without Tamar Bates (left foot surgery), Christian Braun (left ankle sprain), Aaron Gordon (right hamstring strain), and Cameron Johnson (right knee injury management).
Miami’s injury report includes Tyler Herro (right big toe contusion) and Terry Rozier (not with team), while Bam Adebayo is listed as probable with lower back soreness. Vladislav Goldin and Jahmir Young are out due to G League two-way assignments.
Denver’s offense is led by Nikola Jokic, averaging 29.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 11.1 assists over 35.1 minutes per game. Jamal Murray adds 25.4 points and 6.8 assists, while Peyton Watson and Tim Hardaway Jr. contribute 10.7 and 13.2 points respectively.
Miami relies on Norman Powell, who averages 23.7 points and 4.1 rebounds, and Andrew Wiggins, contributing 16.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Bam Adebayo offers 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists when healthy, anchoring the interior.
The Heat also receive scoring from Jaime Jaquez Jr. (16.3 points, 4.6 assists) and Kel’el Ware (12.4 points, 10.6 rebounds). Davion Mitchell controls the backcourt with 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
The season series so far favors Denver, who won 122-112 at home on November 5. Injuries and depth will play a key role as both teams look to gain momentum before the new year.
