The Cleveland Cavaliers visit the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, December 29, with tipoff set for 8:00 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center.

Cleveland enters the interconference matchup at 17-16 and looking to halt a two-game losing streak after losses to Houston and New York. San Antonio sits at 23-8 but is coming off a 127-114 home defeat against Utah.

Injuries remain a central storyline for both teams. The Cavaliers will again be without Larry Nance Jr. due to a right calf strain and Max Strus, who continues to recover from left foot surgery. Cleveland has also ruled out two-way players Chris Livingston and Luke Travers.

The Cavaliers continue to rely heavily on Donovan Mitchell, who averages 30.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Darius Garland remains a key playmaker at 6.7 assists per night, while Jaylon Tyson and Sam Merrill provide perimeter shooting support.

San Antonio’s injury report carries more uncertainty. De’Aaron Fox is listed as questionable with left adductor tightness and illness, a designation that could significantly affect the Spurs’ offensive rhythm.

The Spurs are otherwise without two-way forward Harrison Ingram, while David Jones García is questionable under a G League designation and Stanley Umude remains unavailable.

If Fox is limited or sidelined, the Spurs will lean more on Stephon Castle’s playmaking and Devin Vassell’s scoring on the wing. Victor Wembanyama continues to anchor the defense, averaging 23.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game.

Cleveland won the first meeting between the teams this season, a 130-117 victory on December 5, using efficient scoring and ball movement.
