Bam Adebayo’s recent offensive struggles have lined up closely with the Heat’s drop in the standings, as noted by Anthony Chiang.
Early in the season, Miami’s updated, more free-flowing offensive system drew praise, but that same approach has reduced some of the familiar actions that previously helped Adebayo thrive.
As a result, his shot profile has shifted, with fewer attempts near the basket and more coming from beyond the arc.
That change has not paid off statistically. Adebayo is connecting on just 31.4 percent of his three-point attempts, one of the lowest marks in the league among players taking at least four per game.
The struggles have been noticeable, but he’s trying not to let them define his overall impact.
“It sucks,” Adebayo said when addressing the slump, acknowledging the frustration that comes with shots not falling.
Still, he emphasized that long seasons demand patience and adaptability, explaining that he’s focused on finding other ways to help the team win rather than getting caught up in shooting numbers.
He added that the goal is to keep playing the right way and trust that the rhythm will eventually return, noting that sometimes the best approach is to simply “play basketball and shots will eventually start falling.”
