The Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 126-116 on Thursday, Christmas Day 2025.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 23 points, while Jimmy Butler added 14, nine assists, and nine rebounds.

On the other hand, Mavericks rookie star Cooper Flagg with 27 points on 13 for 21 shooting, six rebounds, and five assists in his Christmas Day debut, while Brandown Williams contributed 26 off the bench.

Curry knocked down a key three-pointer with 3:45 left to help seal it.

Mavs sharpshooter Klay Thompson returned to face his former team in the holiday after missing Tuesday’s home game against the Nuggets due to soreness in his left knee.

Thompson received a warm ovation when he entered the game for the first time with 5:51 remaining in the opening quarter.

Meanwhile, Dallas’ big man Anthony Davis did not return after exiting in the quarter with groin spasms, after contributing three points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots in 11 minutes.

Draymond Green added seven points and five rebounds, playing in foul trouble two days after having a heated exchange with Steve Kerr during a third-quarter timeout against Orlando.

The Warriors started 0 for 6 from three-point range before the Mavericks even attempted their first shot from deep.

Moses Moody connected at the 6:05 mark of the first quarter, and that helped the Warriors get going, along with Al Horford.

Horford came back from a seven-game absence because of sciatica in his right leg and finished with 14 points.

Dallas will visit Sacramento on Saturday, while the Warriors will also be in Toronto on Sunday.
