Kawhi Leonard’s postgame availability ended abruptly Saturday night after frustration boiled over following the Clippers’ 103-88 win against the Lakers. The Clippers star lost patience when a reporter repeatedly pressed him about an incident involving a spilled shake during the game.

Leonard addressed the topic directly before attempting to move on. “I was mad at halftime, so I just threw my shake everywhere. So, that’s what happened,” he said.

As the line of questioning continued, Leonard’s irritation became clear. “Where’s that at, man? That’s a lot. Come on, man. Next. Talk about the game.”

Once the discussion shifted to basketball, Leonard explained how the Clippers protected a 22-point lead and avoided another late collapse. “I think we made threes, turned them over, got out in transition, made some easy layups.”

Asked about his rebounding effort and overall engagement, Leonard downplayed any deeper meaning. “Just the flow of the game. You know sometimes I try to get rebounds but they don’t come my way bad bounces, but yeah I was able to get some rebounds and you know I played probably 40-some minutes too.”

Leonard emphasized execution when the Lakers made a fourth-quarter push. “Like I said, just getting out of transition, getting some turnovers, making threes tonight and we was able to, you know, keep the lead and hold it for the game.”

With Ivica Zubac exiting early due to a left ankle injury, Leonard credited the supporting cast for stabilizing the frontcourt. “We was up early you know Brook stepped in being a vet coming in you know setting screens making big threes making big blocks at the rim.”

Mental toughness was another theme following the Clippers snapping a five-game losing streak. “Just knowing that we’ve been here before. Um wanted to win the basketball game. Just like I said, we got some steals.”

Leonard also addressed the emotional weight of the win after James Harden described it as lifting pressure. “I mean it’s very mental. But you know, one thing that you got to do is play hard and have fun and compete.”

When asked again about the halftime incident and whether it inspired teammates, Leonard shut it down. “So, I’m down for the night. I didn’t throw the shake I just said it.”

On the floor, Leonard delivered his most productive performance of the season with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. The Clippers shot 16-for-43 from three-point range and led wire to wire.

LeBron James scored a season-high 36 points for the Lakers, while Luka Doncic exited after halftime with a lower leg contusion. The win moved the Clippers to 7-21 and marked a rare bright spot in a difficult season.
