Los Angeles Lakers are hopeful that Rui Hachimura will avoid an extended absence after experiencing groin soreness.

Head coach J.J. Redick said the expectation is that Hachimura could miss only a few days, with an estimated recovery window of three to five days, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

The issue surfaced during Thursday’s game in Utah, when Hachimura began feeling discomfort around his hip area.

Redick also offered encouraging updates on two other rotation players. Deandre Ayton, who is dealing with a left elbow issue, and Austin Reaves, sidelined by a left calf injury, are both trending in the right direction.

Redick indicated that each has a chance to return as soon as Tuesday, when the Lakers face the Phoenix Suns, suggesting the team could soon regain much of its sidelined depth.
