With the Golden State Warriors sliding and at risk of dropping out of the play-in picture, Scott Ostler of San Francisco Chronicle argues that subtle tweaks won’t be enough. He believes the team needs bolder changes to reset its trajectory after losing three straight games.
One idea Ostler floats is moving Jonathan Kuminga once he becomes trade-eligible on January 15. Kuminga’s uneven play and shifting role under Steve Kerr have, in Ostler’s view, created more distraction than stability.
Although Kuminga recently returned after a brief absence, his limited minutes and struggles reinforced the belief that a change of scenery could benefit both sides, especially since other teams may still see untapped upside.
Ostler also suggests a short-term lineup change involving Draymond Green, pointing to increased turnovers and poor shooting efficiency.
Bringing Green off the bench temporarily could help rebalance the rotation and allow the Warriors to start more shooters alongside Stephen Curry, a move Ostler thinks could improve spacing and jump-start the offense.
