The Indiana Pacers have brought in additional frontcourt depth by signing James Wiseman to a 10-day deal under the NBA’s hardship exception.

The move makes Wiseman available immediately, and he is expected to be active for Saturday’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.

To make room on the roster, Indiana waived forward Gabe McGlothan, whose own 10-day contract has come to an end.

The shuffle reflects the Pacers’ short-term need for size as they navigate roster availability issues.

Wiseman’s signing marks another step in his return from a torn Achilles.

He previously spent time with Indiana during the preseason, appearing in four exhibition games as he worked his way back to full health, giving the Pacers a familiar look at where he stands physically before bringing him back into the fold.
