League conversations suggest the Indiana Pacers are at least open to exploring scenarios that involve Bennedict Mathurin as he moves closer to restricted free agency in 2026.

As relayed by Brett Siegel, Indiana’s front office does not appear eager to lock itself into a potentially expensive long-term commitment for the fourth-year wing, even while recognizing his upside and scoring ability.

Siegel notes that Mathurin is still viewed internally and around the league as the Pacers’ most valuable trade piece heading toward the February 5 deadline, which puts Indiana in a position of leverage if it decides to seriously engage in talks.

At the same time, discussions have not been limited solely to Mathurin.

Early trade chatter has also included Jarace Walker and Obi Toppin, signaling that the Pacers are casting a wider net as they evaluate ways to reshape their frontcourt.

Mathurin has played 4 seasons for the Pacers. He has averaged 16.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 225 regular-season games.
