Rookie Dylan Harper scored a season-high 24 points as the San Antonio Spurs (19-7) led almost the entire game to defeat the Washington Wizards (4-21) 119-94 on Thursday at Frost Bank Center.

Victor Wembanyama added 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks in just 17 minutes, extending his streak to 99 consecutive games with a block while remaining on a minutes restriction after returning from a calf injury.

Devin Vassell contributed 18 points and Stephon Castle added 17 to help the Spurs recover from a loss to the New York Knicks in the NBA Cup final earlier this week. San Antonio forced 10 turnovers in the third quarter alone, turning defensive stops into a decisive 14-2 run.

The Wizards briefly took their first lead at 58-57 in the third quarter on a free throw by Bilal Coulibaly, but San Antonio responded immediately with a 3-pointer from Vassell, sparking a 26-point run that put the game out of reach. Coulibaly finished with just three points for Washington, while Alex Sarr led the team with 18.

San Antonio shot 49% from the field and 36% from three-point range, controlling the boards 53-46. Wembanyama’s limited minutes highlighted the Spurs’ depth, as the team managed to dominate without relying heavily on their star center.

The Spurs have now won four straight games and 11 of their last 14 overall, rebounding from the NBA Cup final loss and setting their sights on road games against Atlanta on Friday and Washington on Sunday.

Washington, which remains at the bottom of the standings, will visit Memphis on Saturday after dropping five of their last six games.
