Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Bones Hyland talked about who he patterned his game after growing up following Sunday’s 117-103 home win vs. the Sacramento Kings (18 points/3 rebounds/5 assists/1 block/6-10 FG/1-4 3-PT/5-5 FT/+10 +/-).

(via BASKETMAN):

Jim Petersen: “I gotta know who you patterned your game after, because I’m trying to compare you to somebody else. And so, I wanna know who you really enjoyed watching and who you patterned your game after?”

Hyland: “It’s actually funny that you asked this cuz everybody asks me, but everyone thinks it’s an NBA player, and it’s actually not. It’s a guy who go by the name… he goes by the name of Hot Sauce. He was an AND1 player. His name’s Hot Sauce. But I used to go home every day, eat a bowl of cereal, look in the mirror, I turn his highlights on, put the phone up, and I just work on all his moves. Then I would go to the gym and I work on the moves, and I would try to get my swag up and I learned to get the wiggle, get the flashiness, and just have some swag to your game. I got it from him though, for sure.”
