The Washington Wizards earned their first road victory in nearly two months with a 108-89 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, December 14, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Washington improved to 4-20 overall and 2-11 on the road, snapping a four-game losing streak, while Indiana fell to 6-20 and dropped its second straight game.

Marvin Bagley III delivered his most productive outing of the season, finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes. It marked his second double-double of the year and set the tone early for the visitors.

CJ McCollum added 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting, providing steady scoring from the perimeter. Justin Champagnie contributed 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, giving the Wizards consistent activity on the glass.

Washington controlled the game defensively, holding Indiana to 36.9 percent shooting from the field and 25.6 percent from three-point range. Those figures ranked among the Pacers’ lowest efficiency marks of the season.

The Wizards closed the first half on a 13-4 run to take a 58-47 lead at the break. They extended the margin to 66-51 early in the third quarter and never allowed Indiana to regain momentum.

The Pacers briefly cut the deficit to eight, but Washington responded with seven unanswered points to reestablish control. Indiana did not threaten again over the final stretch.

Bennedict Mathurin led the Pacers with 15 points, while Jay Huff scored 13 and Isaiah Jackson recorded 11 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Indiana finished 31-of-84 from the field and committed eight turnovers.

Andrew Nembhard struggled from the floor, going 3-of-14, as the Pacers’ offense appeared disjointed throughout the night. The home team was outscored 56-41 in rebounds and managed just 10 made three-pointers on 39 attempts.

The loss delayed Rick Carlisle’s pursuit of his 1,000th career coaching win, a milestone that remains one victory away. Indiana has now lost four of its last six games.

Washington shot 46 percent overall and won the rebounding battle decisively, collecting 56 boards and limiting second-chance opportunities. The Wizards also recorded 19 assists on 41 made field goals.
