Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade is reportedly in advanced talks to sign NBA veteran Malik Beasley for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, according to Novasport on Sunday, December 7. The club is navigating one of the most turbulent periods in its history after the sudden departure of legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic.

Beasley, who averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists last season with Detroit, has been sidelined from NBA opportunities due to an ongoing investigation into alleged gambling activities. The timing leaves him available for a mid-season move to Europe.

Partizan’s president, Ostoja Mijailovic, is reportedly spearheading negotiations with the player, with assistance from his son Jovan, who also serves as president of the club’s esports division. Sources suggest a deal could be worth $2 million through the end of the season, with no option for Beasley to leave for the NBA until after the summer.

The club currently sits 16th in the EuroLeague with a 5-9 record, scoring 82.4 points per game while allowing 87 points, reflecting a -4.6 point differential. Partizan has struggled to find consistent scoring and playmaking outside of Carlik Jones and Tyrique Jones, who average 12.4 and 17.1 points per game, respectively.

Adding Beasley would bolster the backcourt and provide a proven scoring option. His career averages in the NBA include 11.7 points per game over 578 regular-season appearances and 7.8 points per game in 43 playoff games, with notable scoring stints for Minnesota and Detroit. Beasley has also shot 39.1% from three-point range across his NBA career, highlighting his ability to stretch the floor.

Partizan’s management faces pressure to reverse the club’s recent struggles, with fan unrest reaching a peak during a home victory over Bayern Munich on December 4. The addition of a high-profile scorer like Beasley could address both performance gaps and morale, as the team seeks to remain competitive in the EuroLeague.

While the deal is not finalized, the discussions signal Partizan’s commitment to strengthening the roster despite ongoing organizational challenges. The coming days will determine if Beasley officially joins the squad and if he can make an immediate impact in Europe’s top-tier competition.
