The New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets face significant roster challenges ahead of their matchup on Saturday at the Barclays Center. Both teams are dealing with multiple injuries that could impact rotations and game plans.

For New Orleans, the injury list is extensive. Zion Williamson (right adductor strain), Jordan Poole (left quad strain), Dejounte Murray (right Achilles rupture), and Herbert Jones (right calf strain) are all out. Yves Missi is listed as questionable with a right foot/ankle sprain, while Hunter Dickinson remains unavailable on a two-way assignment.

The Pelicans have struggled recently, entering the game on a five-game losing streak and holding a 3-20 record. Their leading scorers include Trey Murphy III, averaging 20.4 points per game, and Williamson, who has been sidelined but averaged 22.1 points in 10 games this season.

Brooklyn also faces injuries, with Cam Thomas (left hamstring strain) and Haywood Highsmith (right knee surgery) out. Two-way players Tyson Etienne, E.J. Liddell, and Nolan Traoré are unavailable due to G League assignments. Noah Clowney is listed as probable with back soreness, providing some reinforcement for the Nets.

The Nets have a 5-17 record and are on a one-game losing streak after falling 123-110 to the Utah Jazz on December 4. Michael Porter Jr. leads the team with 25.3 points per game, while Nic Claxton adds 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Saturday’s game will also mark the first meeting of the season between New Orleans and Brooklyn. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM ET at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
