Devin Booker will be reevaluated in a week after suffering what the team confirmed as a right groin strain during the Phoenix Suns’ win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.

According to the Suns, the star guard’s status remains day-to-day until the medical staff completes the follow-up evaluation. As the team noted, Booker “will be reevaluated in one week,” with the organization opting for a cautious approach given his workload this season.

Before the injury, Booker had been delivering one of his most balanced campaigns. He is averaging 25.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists, numbers that have helped Phoenix outperform early expectations following their offseason decision to move on from Kevin Durant.

Booker’s durability had also been trending upward. He appeared in 75 games last year – his highest mark since his second NBA season in 2016–17 – signaling a return to reliable availability after several injury-affected stretches earlier in his career.

The Suns rewarded that progress and his franchise-cornerstone role by agreeing to a two-year, $145 million extension during the 2025 offseason.
