Bucks, Heat face injury hurdles ahead of NBA Cup clash

The Milwaukee Bucks enter Wednesday’s NBA Cup matchup at Kaseya Center without Kevin Porter Jr. (right knee surgery), Taurean Prince (neck surgery), and Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way, G League). Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable with a left adductor strain, leaving the team’s offensive and defensive schemes in question.

Miami is mostly healthy for the home matchup but has several players listed as questionable, including Jaime Jaquez Jr. (right hip tightness), Nikola Jovic (right hip impingement), Dru Smith (left hip contusion), Andrew Wiggins (left hip flexor strain), and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Meanwhile, Norman Powell is probable with a left groin strain.

The Bucks (8-10) have struggled recently, dropping their last two games, 103-115 to Portland and 116-129 to Detroit, extending a four-game losing streak.

Giannis leads the team with 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game, while Ryan Rollins averages 18.6 points and 5.9 assists. Kyle Kuzma contributes 13.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest.

Miami (12-6) has won its last two games, beating Dallas 106-102 and Philadelphia 127-117, matching the Bucks’ losing streak with a four-game win streak.

Powell leads the Heat with 25.4 points per game, while Bam Adebayo adds 19.3 points and 8.2 rebounds. Wiggins and Jaquez Jr. provide scoring depth with 16.7 and 16.5 points per game, respectively.

Wednesday’s contest is the first meeting of the season between the Bucks and Heat.
