Karl-Anthony Towns is entering uncharted territory with the New York Knicks, adapting to a system under coach Mike Brown that he says is unlike anything he has seen in his 11-year NBA career.

“It’s different. I haven’t seen it in my 11 years in the NBA,” Towns said, per the New York Post. “But I’m having fun with it. I’m just continuing to get better and impact the game… and continue to help our team any way possible.”

Towns has been a central figure in the Knicks’ 9-5 start, averaging 21.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. His scoring impact is particularly pronounced in victories, where he averages 24.3 points on 46 percent shooting and 38.2 percent from three-point range.

The 30-year-old center has delivered several standout performances this season, including a 39-point outing against Miami on November 14 and a 28-point, 12-rebound game versus Brooklyn on November 9. His versatility allows him to score inside, stretch the floor with perimeter shooting, and contribute as a facilitator in Brown’s motion-heavy offense.

Towns is also adjusting to the Knicks’ defensive schemes, which emphasize switching, pick-and-roll coverage, and positional awareness. His 12.8 rebounds per game, including 3.2 offensive boards, help anchor New York’s paint while supporting rotations designed to maximize team efficiency.

Complementing Towns’ contributions are Jalen Brunson’s 28.0 points per game and Mikal Bridges’ 16.1 points with 4.9 assists, forming a balanced core that benefits from Towns’ presence inside..
