Jordi Fernandez: Egor Demin sat while searching best lineup

Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Egor Demin has performed well since being moved into the starting lineup, but he played just seven minutes after halftime on Friday, according to Brian Lewis of The New York Post.

Head coach Jordi Fernandez said the reduced playing time wasn’t about Demin specifically, but rather about riding the lineup that gave the team its best chance that night.

“At some point, what you’re trying to find is a group that gives you a run,” Fernandez explained.

“It’s not just about one player. It’s about finding a group. Egor played against a very physical team; those minutes are extremely valuable. But it’s not just about the rookies. I know (reporters) ask me about the rookies all the time, but it’s everybody.”
