Jalen Johnson had a career-high 31 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists, and seven steals to lead the Atlanta Hawks past the Utah Jazz 132-122 on Thursday at the Delta Center. Johnson achieved his third career triple-double while helping Atlanta extend their winning streak to four games.
The Hawks made 24 3-pointers, the most by any NBA team this season, with Onyeka Okongwu hitting 8-of-14 from deep for a career-high 32 points. Vit Krejci added 20 points, going 5-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first half, as Atlanta set a franchise record with 15 first-half triples.
Atlanta built an 18-point lead, but Utah rallied to take a 106-103 lead early in the fourth quarter on a Lauri Markkanen 3-pointer. The Hawks responded with an 8-0 run, including key steals from Johnson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, capped by two free throws from Johnson to seal the game.
Markkanen scored 40 points on 15-of-25 shooting for the Jazz, while rookie Ace Bailey added 21 points and Keyonte George finished with 19. Despite the effort, Utah (4-8) has yet to post consecutive wins this season.
The Hawks played without Trae Young, sidelined with an MCL sprain, and Kristaps Porzingis, who rested. Without their primary ball-handler, Atlanta shared the offense effectively, recording 36 assists while maintaining efficiency from deep.
Atlanta will wrap up their four-game road trip at Phoenix on Sunday, while the Jazz return home to face the Chicago Bulls.
