The Los Angeles Lakers will be without LeBron James and Gabe Vincent when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Monday at the Spectrum Center at 7:00 PM ET. James is sidelined with right sciatica, while Vincent is out with a left ankle sprain.
Austin Reaves is listed as questionable for the Lakers due to a right groin strain, and Adou Thiero remains out recovering from left knee surgery.
Despite the absences, Los Angeles has opened the season 7-3, relying heavily on Luka Doncic, Reaves, and Deandre Ayton for scoring and playmaking.
The Hornets are also dealing with multiple injuries, including LaMelo Ball (right ankle impingement), Josh Green (left shoulder surgery), Brandon Miller (left shoulder subluxation), and Grant Williams (right knee surgery). Miles Bridges is questionable with back spasms, while Drew Peterson and Tidjane Salaun are on G League assignments.
Charlotte has struggled to stay consistent this season, sitting at 3-6 after dropping three of their last four games. LaMelo Ball leads the team in scoring at 23.3 points per game, with Bridges adding 20.7 points per contest when healthy.
Doncic has been the team’s driving force, averaging 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 9.5 assists in six games. Reaves has contributed 31.1 points and 9.3 assists per game when available, highlighting the team’s dependence on its backcourt.
Charlotte’s Collin Sexton and Kon Knueppel have stepped up in recent games, but injuries to key players could limit the team’s options against a high-powered Lakers offense. The Hornets will also be looking to defend their home court after a 2-2 record at the Spectrum Center this season.
