Dimitris Itoudis has signed a new three-year deal with newly crowned Euroleague champions CSKA Moscow.

The new deal keeps the Greek playcaller with the Army Men until 2019.

“I am very happy that we continue our collaboration and we will be working together for another three years,” Itoudis said.

“I am proud for the club I am working in, for the people I am working with. I want to thank everybody and congratulate on the achievements we have all together – Andrey Vatutin, Natalia Furaeva, Andrey Shchepankov, the team, coaching staff, medical staff, everyone from the club.”

Itoudis added: “We are looking forward for new challenges. We are hungry and thirsty – me, all the club and our fans are on the same page. We are looking forward to create new generations on the team that will play on the highest level and defend club’s titles.”

The 45-year-old took charge of the Muscovites in 2014 and has led CSKA to two Euroleague Final Fours with the Russians claiming their first European club trophy since 2008.

“The team plays spectacular game under Itoudis,” said CSKA president Andrey Vatutin. “[The] players enjoy being on the court, they perfectly understand the goals set by the coaching staff and work together to reach common goals. I think we should not wish something different.”
