The Chicago Bulls pulled off one of the most dramatic comebacks of the young NBA season on Tuesday night, erasing a 24-point deficit to stun the Philadelphia 76ers 113–111, as detailed by Jamal Collier of ESPN.
The victory marked the largest comeback in the league so far this year and helped the Bulls bounce back from Sunday’s loss to New York.
Josh Giddey was at the center of the turnaround, delivering another masterful all-around performance with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.
The 23-year-old guard became the first Bull since Michael Jordan to record triple-doubles in back-to-back games – a milestone that even he admitted carried special significance.
“It’s cool, obviously,” Giddey told reporters, acknowledging the comparison to Jordan, per The Chicago Sun-Times’ Kyle Williams. “But tonight was one of the best wins that I’ve ever been a part of. Just in terms of how bad we were down that early in the third. And to gut that one out and dig ourselves out of the hole that we did was unbelievable.”
Veteran center Nikola Vucevic capped the comeback by hitting the game-winning shot and later emphasized the importance of learning from the slow start.
“It’s important that we understand this is not how you can become a good team by getting down 20 and then waking up and start to finally play,” Vucevic said. “We have to play better from the beginning. This game was a great example of what we can be when we play the way we need to.”
