Jared McCain will make his season debut for the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls, the team announced.
The 16th overall pick in last year’s draft missed the start of the season after tearing the UCL in his right thumb during an offseason workout.
He underwent surgery and was cleared to return to full practice last week.
McCain, 21, was one of the early Rookie of the Year candidates last season before suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee in December.
In 23 games as a rookie, he averaged 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds while shooting 46% from the field.
Now healthy, McCain rejoins a Sixers team off to a strong 5–1 start behind Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Quentin Grimes.
However, Paul George (knee) and Dominick Barlow (elbow) will remain sidelined for Tuesday’s matchup.
Jared McCain is expected to play for the Sixers on Tuesday for the first time in nearly 11 months. Story: https://t.co/OBacpYjfI2
