Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen suffered a left ring finger injury during Wednesday night’s game in Boston. Postgame evaluation and an X-ray at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine confirmed a non-displaced fracture of his distal phalanx.
Allen will undergo a series of treatments and evaluations and is listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The team has not yet provided a timeline for his return.
The injury comes as Allen is contributing significantly to the Cavaliers’ early-season success. Through five games in the 2025-26 season, he is averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per contest while anchoring Cleveland’s interior defense.
Allen’s presence is crucial alongside star teammates Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. Mitchell leads the team with 28.0 points per game, while Mobley adds 18.4 points and 9.2 rebounds through the first five contests. The Cavaliers have a 3-2 record and rely on Allen for rim protection and second-chance scoring.
Cleveland’s frontcourt depth will be tested if Allen misses time. Thomas Bryant, Dean Wade, and Larry Nance Jr. are expected to see increased minutes at center and power forward. The Cavaliers will need contributions from multiple players to maintain defensive and rebounding efficiency.
