Galatasaray are making plans for a new 10,500-seat arena until the President of Turkey gave the club another suggestion.

President Recep Tayiip Erdogan has proposed that the club improve their arena capacity to 15,000 instead to reward the club winning the Eurocup.

This was all revealed during a meeting among club members. One of them, Faruk Sile, mentioned that he met with the president of Galatasaray who informed him that everything is ready to financially back up the making of the new arena.

Until President Erdogan proposed the construction of a better, larger and generally improved arena.

So it was decided that the plans will be rearranged in order to create the 15,000-seat arena to replace the team’s current home at the Abdi Ipecki Arena.

Furthermore, it was also revealed that Galatasaray’s income from official sponsors this season was just 3-4 million euros, while Darussafaka Dogus had earned €36million until November 2015 and Anadolu Efes received €32million.
