Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 107–101 comeback win over the Sacramento Kings at Paycom Center on Tuesday night.
The Thunder trailed by three at the end of the third quarter but used a late fourth-quarter surge to overcome the deficit, improving to 5-0 on the season. Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell each added 18 points, supporting the Thunder’s balanced scoring attack.
Zach LaVine led the Kings with 23 points, while DeMar DeRozan scored 19 and Domantas Sabonis had 10 points with 18 rebounds. Former Thunder star Russell Westbrook contributed 16 points and nine boards in his first start of the season for Sacramento.
Oklahoma City overcame a third-quarter shooting slump from Gilgeous-Alexander, who went 1-for-9 in that period but bounced back with nine points in the fourth to help seal the victory. Lu Dort’s 3-pointer put the Thunder ahead 99-97 in the final minutes, and Alex Caruso’s trey extended the lead to 104-99 with 46 seconds remaining.
Gilgeous-Alexander hit a stepback three-pointer with 16 seconds left to push the advantage to six, securing the win despite missing key rotation players Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, and Isaiah Joe. The Kings had led by as many as 13 points after an 11-0 run in the third quarter but could not contain Oklahoma City’s late-game rally.
The Thunder shot 45.7% from the field and 90% from the free-throw line. Sacramento shot 42.4% from the field and 90.5% from the charity stripe but could not convert in the final minutes.
Oklahoma City will host the Washington Wizards on Thursday, while the Kings visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
