Austin Reaves scored a career-high 51 points, including four clutch free throws in the final 32 seconds, to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Sacramento Kings 127-120 on Sunday at Golden 1 Center.
Reaves made 12 of 22 from the field and hit six 3-pointers, including the 500th of his career, while also recording nine assists and 11 rebounds.
Deandre Ayton contributed 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Rui Hachimura added 18 points as the Lakers secured the win without Luka Doncic, who was sidelined with a sprained finger and bruised leg.
The Lakers built an early 10-point lead in the first quarter, with Hachimura scoring 10 points and Ayton and Marcus Smart each adding seven.
Sacramento tied the game at halftime after making seven 3-pointers in the second quarter, including three from Russell Westbrook, but Reaves’ 15 points in the fourth quarter kept Los Angeles ahead.
Reaves became just the fourth player in the past 40 years to post at least 50 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists in a game, joining Doncic, Westbrook, and James Harden. He also recorded the first 50-plus points with 11-plus rebounds and nine-plus assists by a Lakers player since Elgin Baylor in 1963.
For the Kings, Zach LaVine led with 32 points, followed by DeMar DeRozan with 21, Dennis Schroder with 18 points and 12 assists, and Domantas Sabonis with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Los Angeles will face the Portland Trail Blazers in their next game on Monday, while Sacramento travels to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder on Tuesday.
