Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade announced the signing of Angolan center Bruno Fernando from Real Madrid on Sunday, pending a medical examination scheduled for Monday.
The move bolsters coach Zeljko Obradovic’s frontcourt rotation as the Serbian champions aim to climb above their current 3–3 EuroLeague record.
Fernando, 27, played in five EuroLeague games for Real Madrid this season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 10 minutes per appearance. The 2.08-meter big man joined Los Blancos midway through the 2024–25 campaign and featured in their playoff series against Olympiacos Piraeus.
Before arriving in Europe, Fernando spent six seasons in the NBA with five different teams — the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, and Toronto Raptors. His best year came in 2023–24 with Atlanta, where he averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds across 45 games.
The addition of Fernando provides Partizan with much-needed size and energy inside. Until now, Tyrique Jones had been the only natural center in Obradovic’s rotation. The Angolan international is expected to share frontcourt minutes with Jones and Dylan Osetkowski, giving Partizan greater physical presence in the paint.
A regular for the Angolan national team, Fernando will wear No. 24 for the Belgrade side.
